The Stables is a fully featured photographic studio, set in the heart of Eastbourne, one of the south coasts most picturesque towns, with direct rail links to both London and Brighton. It is available for private hire 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

The 1600 sq ft studio space consists of a raised area with fitted 2.75m infinity curve and greenscreen, set above the main floor space, which can accommodate larger shoots and has support for a 3.5m brilliant white backdrop. The studio also features a luxurious "chill out" room, with deep leather couches, wide screen tv and a pinball machine.

    Whilst you may prefer to use your own gear, the stables boasts the following photographic equipment, all of which is included in the standard daily, half day, and evening rates (please contact us if you require more info on anything listed):

    • Full selection of Lastolite paper backdrops - black and white backdrops are always available and the full selection of colours (viewable here) can be ordered on request with 48 hours notice. Please note, if you wish to use paper backdrops there is a surcharge of £5 per m.

    The stables photographic studio is just a short walk from Eastbourne station. Simply leave from the main exit, cross the pedestrian crossing and take the first left turn off Gildgredge Road. The studio is situated on Stables Lane and is clearly signed on the outside. Please buzz/knock on arrival.

    If you are driving to us and require a parking space (shown on the map) please call in advance so as one can be reserved. Someone is always available to lend a hand with loading/unloading equipment.

    Rough journey times are as follows:

    • From Brighton: 30 mins
    • From London: 1 hr 40 mins
    • From Surrey: 1 hr 35 mins
    • From Hastings: 35 mins

    Assistant Hire:

    • We offer the assistance of one or more highly experienced photographic professionals. They will be able to aid you in setting up your equipment, taking light readings, loading/unloading and positioning lights and reflectors. Please see rates/contact for pricing.


    Tuition and Classes:

    • Locally based photographer Kris Lamba is available for private tuition and small group classes. These include: Workshops in creative studio lighting, large format (5x4) techniques, digital SLR tuition and retouching/digital development. Please call/email for pricing and availability. We will also be introducing a photography based langauge course in the near future.


    Models and make-up:

    • Want to beef up your portfolio but lack connections? We can provide both male and female models for all types of photography. We also have several qualified make-up artists available on call. Email us your requirements and we'll call you right back.


    Videography:

    • We offer a wide range of video services, including music videos, special effects, film clips and casting shorts. Please email/call for pricing and availability. *NEW* We have just purchased a full sized infinity cove (green screen) for all types of special effects fliming and montion capture. Please call/email for full details


    Equipment Hire:

    Please note: We operate a membership policy for regular studio users. Annual membership is £50 and can be paid at the time of your first booking. The studio is always open from 9am until 6pm, if you wish we can operate outside these times at a 20% premium.
